In the last few weeks, I started using the teeth whitening strips, and I shared with you the whole process (in "teeth whitening" highlights). I also wanted to give a little more detailed review.
First of all I will emphasize that I am not a doctor and especially not a dentist. Everything I learned is from the internet and like everything the use is at your own risk. I can only take responsibility for myself.
Not long ago I had to use medicated mouthwash that slightly yellowed my teeth, and that's why I wanted to do whitening. After treatment by a dentist, and a consultation with a dentist, I decided to give whitening strips a chance.
The strips contain hydrogen peroxide. It's the ingredient that brightens the teeth, and according to what I've read, it's also the ingredient that's used in some of the whitening treatments that are also done at a dentist. The difference is mainly the percentage, which is lower in strips for home use. The hydrogen peroxide penetrates the dentin and changes the color from the inside. It does not peel off layers and does not damage the enamel.
The instructions are to put them on for half an hour, take them off and brush your teeth, every day for 14 days. I realized that it should also be started after a visit to the dentist. The results should last for six months, depending on how much you smoke and drink coffee.
You can see in the picture the differences after 5 uses and after 14 uses. It seems that after 5 uses I reached the maximum possible and I didn't have to continue the process. And what's strange is that after 5 treatments it looks even better than the final result 🤔 (I always photographed in the same lighting). Bottom line, at the end of the process my teeth look brighter, with a more uniform shade, and with fewer stains than when I started.
Something that is important to pay attention to - it can make teeth and gums sensitive, especially if you use too much!
It is individual and varies from one to another, there are those who will not be bothered by it at all and there are those who from the first use will feel terrible, so make sure you listen to your body.
I felt sensitivity after a few days of use, so I reduced the frequency to two days and it worked out.
Do not leave more than half an hour and do not stay with it all night because it will make you sensitive!
Many are familiar with the whitening strips from the competing company Crest. They are dupes. Zimba at a cheaper price and cruelty-free for animals 🐇❤️
A tip they gave me after, is that you can cut the strip into 2 and then it even saves for more uses.
They have several different flavors on iHerb - strawberry, peach, and coconut. I tried the strawberry and the peach and both were fine (in any case I tried not to swallow it too much).
Write to me if you are interested in me reviewing more of their products 😊
The brand is cruelty-free 🐰❤️
