Topicals Like Butter Moisturizer

When my friend flew to New York, I took the opportunity to send him to Sephora USA to get me things that are only available there. This cream was one of them, but today you can already order it from Amazon.

The cream is from the Topicals company, which became famous for their faded lightening cream, but here it is a cream for dry skin or eczema. My skin is dry (no eczema), and I've been using it at the end of my evening routine for the past two months.

The cream is full of good ingredients, many of which are found in our skin naturally, and can help with a healthier skin barrier:

✅ Squalane oil - an oil found naturally in our skin, and excellent for moisturizing dry skin.

✅ Niacinamide - a ingredient that can help a variety of skin problems such as: lightening, treating post-acne spots, balancing sebum production, acne, strengthening the skin barrier, moisture, and more.

✅ Shea butter and evening primrose oil - to moisturize and soften the skin.

✅ Centella asiatica - soothing, antioxidant.

✅ Green tea and turmeric extract - soothing, anti-oxidant, and balances sebum production.

✅ Ginseng extract - antioxidant.

✅ Licorice - soothing, clarifying.

✅ 2 types of hyaluronic acid - to moisturize.

Phytosphingosine ✅ - a type of lipid found naturally in the skin and is part of its defense mechanism. It is also antibacterial and can help against acne.

✅ 3 types of ceramides - are found naturally in the skin and are responsible for a healthy skin barrier.

✅ 10 (!) types of amino acids - they are also found naturally in the skin, and contribute to moisture and a healthy skin barrier.

✅ PCA - it is also found in the skin naturally and helps the skin to be more moist.

✅ Cholesterol - a lipid found in the skin naturally and responsible for moist skin and a healthy skin barrier.

✅ fragrance-free, drying alcohol or essential oils.

It is yellowish in color (not something you see on the skin), a light creamy texture but not a gel. I used it as a night cream for dry skin, but in my opinion it can also be suitable for normal skin in the evening, and with a thin layer also as a day cream for dry skin in winter. In the summer on a daily basis it will probably be too heavy. Can be excellent for sensitive skin thanks to all the ingredients to strengthen the skin barrier.

All in all, I think this is an excellent cream for strengthening the skin barrier in the long term, but I feel that it does not provide immediate relief and therefore would not be suitable as a rescue cream for emergency situations.
