The Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm

This is one of the products with the most divided opinions. Some really love it, some hate it.

I debated whether to try it for a long time because I was told it contains grains, but then you recommended it to me so I decided to give it a chance. Unfortunately, it turned out that I was one of the people who did not like it, and I will explain to you why:

It contains very tiny granules. These granules physically exfoliate the skin and physically scratch it, can damage the skin barrier and make an uneven exfoliation. The even worse part is that these grains get into the eye and just don't come out! I wear contact lenses and he made me have to throw one pair away. When I took them out of my eye I saw these grains stuck to the lens. It's really a very unpleasant experience and since then I just don't use it on my eyes at all (I didn't have any other balm at home and there were no choices). A balm that cannot be used on the eyes is useless.

From what I understand, not every package comes out with grains and this is probably some kind of defect that sometimes happens in this product due to differences in heat and cold. I'm not the only one who complained about these grains, it's something quite common.

I was told to try melting them in my hands first and it didn't really change anything.

In any case, Balm that I have to work for and every time pray that I "fall" on a working product when I buy it, it is useless and not worth the effort. There are better ones.

In addition, it did not emulsify well and I did not feel that it did a good enough job of cleaning.

It left my skin very smooth and pleasant after use, but this is probably a quick effect of the physical exfoliation, and in the long run I'm not sure it's good, especially for acneic skin.

Inky List says it can also be used as a moisturizing mask for about 10 minutes. I didn't want to try it because of the bad experience with the product so far. I think I might transfer it to the body.

All in all, I really don't recommend it. I like Inky List but it's not a good product of theirs and I think they have to improve it.

If you still want to try it, you can buy it at Superpharm, Cult Beauty, ASOS, Look Fantastic, and Sephora UK.
