The Inkey List Bakuchiol Moisturizer

First of all, what is bakuchiol?

bakuchiol is an extract from the bakuchiol plant, a plant used in Indian and Chinese medicine. This is a relatively new and promising ingredient in the world of care.

They tend to compare it to retinol and call it the natural substitute for retinol, because they have shown many properties similar to retinol (but there is no chemical connection between them, and it is less studied than retinoids).

Both bakuchiol and retinol encourage collagen formation and therefore can improve skin elasticity and treat and prevent wrinkles.

It also has good results in the treatment of pigmentation and acne.

In addition, bakuchiol does not tend to irritate the skin and can even calm the skin and improve redness, while retinol tends to be very irritating to some people.

bakuchiol is also an antioxidant, so it is excellent for use during the day and not just in the evening.

bakuchiol is allowed in pregnancy while retinol is not allowed.

However, it is important to remember that the amount of research on bakuchiol is still small relative to retinoids, and does not compare to the amount of research on them.

Its texture is very light, in my opinion it would be very suitable as a day cream in the summer for oily-normal skin. I used it as the first step in the sandwich method with ratavit.

The only thing I didn't like about it was its smell. It has a very strong herbal smell and I had a hard time with it. Maybe it's just the smell of the bakuchiol, but I've already tried other creams with bakuchiol (fragrance-free) and none of them smelled like that. Sometimes this is the downside of fragrance-free products🤷‍♀️

It comes in the size of a serum (30 ml) which is quite a bit. It costs 60 NIS at Superfarm, and you can also find it at ASOS for 67 NIS (before ASOS' discounts and tricks, so it might be more affordable).
