One of the things I wanted to focus on before the wedding was the keratosis pilaris ("strawberry skin") I have on my arms, and that's how I came to this product.
keratosis pilaris is a chronic and not dangerous skin condition in which keratin (a natural protein of the skin) accumulates and forms small plugs in hair follicles. It looks like small, rough bumps, and is sometimes accompanied by redness. It is very common on the arms, thighs, buttocks and sometimes also in the face. It is impossible to "cure" it completely, but the appearance and texture can be significantly improved through constant moisture and products containing ingredients such as lactic acid, salicylic acid, glycolic acid, or urea - which is found in this product at a concentration of 30%.
Urea is a ingredient found naturally in our body (yes, also in urine, don't panic! 😂). It is considered one of the best moisturizers. It can help soften dry and rough skin and improve skin texture. In high concentrations like in this cream, it also acts as a keratolytic ingredient - that is, it helps to soften and release the accumulation of dead skin cells, making it ideal for the treatment of keratosis pilaris.
The cream also contains amino acids and moisturizing and soothing ingredients such as glycerin and phethanol, and does not contain fragrance/essential oils/alcohol of the drying type.
I used it every night for a few months, focusing on my arms, where I have keratosis pilaris. It's a very heavy cream and looks greasy and shiny on the skin, so I was more comfortable using it in the evening.
Together with a combination of salicylic acid in the wash and Retavit, I was able to smooth my hands almost completely and reduce the redness significantly! My keratosis pilaris was not seen at all in any of the pictures or videos.
Note that since keratosis pilaris is chronic, you have to take care of it for life, otherwise it comes back.
I ordered it from iHerb and unfortunately they stopped selling it there, but I also found a link on Amazon to their official store.
Edit: The company started selling in China which means it is not considered cruelty-free 😢
