This is probably one of the most viral Korean skincare products, and perhaps the product most associated with SKIN1004 - a brand that built its entire identity around Centella asiatica. They boast of high-quality Centella that comes from Madagascar, and this ingredient comes up again and again in their products.
SKIN1004 claim that they use Centella asiatica from Madagascar because the growing conditions and the soil create a high-quality and particularly rich Centella asiatica, but it is not clear if there is any truth in this or if this is just marketing language of the brand.
This serum specifically is the simplest there is - it contains only seven ingredients, with the star being 3% Centella asiatica extract, along with water, glycerin and a few other moisturizing and formulation ingredients.
Centella asiatica is known for its ability to soothe irritated skin, reduce redness, strengthen the skin barrier and is also an excellent antioxidant.
It has a completely liquid texture, so I used it as a toner, the first step in my morning and evening routine.
I had a lot of expectations from this product, and I wanted to love it, but in reality I finished a whole bottle and unfortunately I can't say that I saw a significant change with it. I did not feel that it soothed my skin at all, even when my skin barrier was weak.
I know many of my followers love it but unfortunately he really didn't work for me. It could be that the change was so minor that I couldn't tell the difference, but in my opinion there are much more successful soothing serums than it.
I'd love to hear about your experience with it in the comments ❤️
