Q-Rejuvalight Pro Facewear

This year I decided to fulfill a small dream and invest in an LED mask. I want to buy one of these ever since I came across Dr. Shirin Edris' video about LED masks. I put off buying it because it's not cheap at all and there aren't many that ship to Israel, but last Black Friday I finally decided to go for it.

Since I shared that I bought it, I keep getting messages and questions about it.

So after two and a half months of daily use (almost), let's talk about Qure's LED mask and technology in general.

First of all, what is LED therapy? 🌈

This is a relatively new technology, in which visible and infrared lights are used at certain wavelengths in order to treat certain skin problems. It's called photobiomodulation (sorry, I don't know the Hebrew word if it exists).

Visible light is just like what it sounds like - the lights that we humans are able to see. In complete contrast to ultraviolet light (UV radiation from the sun), these lights, together with infrared (near infrared), have a variety of benefits for the skin.

The red, IR UV and blue light are the most studied. The yellow and the green have been studied less but little by little more studies are coming out on the subject.

❤️ Red and IR light - penetrates deep into the skin, encourages collagen formation, which means it is good for antiaging, both for repelling wrinkles and for treating existing wrinkles. Red light also restores damaged and irritated skin, accelerates the healing of wounds and burns, and can even improve the quality of sleep. Red light can also treat shedding and lengthen hair. It can also help acne to some extent (but blue light is more effective for that).

💙 Blue light - treats acne. It works on the upper layers of the skin and kills the acne bacteria. Blue light also balances sebum production in the skin and can calm the skin.

💚 Green light - to lighten pigmentation. More research is needed on the subject.

💛 Yellow light - reduces redness, treats pigmentation and restores the skin. Here, too, further research is needed.

One of the amazing things about this technology is that it is suitable for all skin types, even the most sensitive skin, and you can combine it with everything!

Acne and antiaging treatments can be very irritating, such as our beloved retinoids. So if you have sensitive skin that can't handle retinoids, light therapy can be great for you.

What about pregnancy? 🤰

In Dr. Drey's (dermatologist) video, she stated that it is safe to use during pregnancy.

However, it is important for me to point out that the subject of care during pregnancy and breastfeeding is a subject on which there is a great deal of controversy among professionals, for the simple reason that no one will do experiments on pregnant women. Everything is based on theories and cases that happened in the past by mistake and by chance and learned from them. For every doctor who will tell you that something is allowed or forbidden during pregnancy, you will find another doctor who will say that it is nonsense.

Who is it not suitable for?⚠️

For those who have diseases related to light such as epilepsy and lupus.

Regarding melasma (hormonal pigmentation) - it is safe to use as long as the device you are using does not heat up, because heat can make melasma worse. The Qure mask does not heat up at all.

Let's talk about the mask of Qure🎭

I came to the qure mask through the recommendation of two dermatologists. They are among the only masks that are sent to Israel and are also approved by the American Ministry of Health. The reviews were good so I decided to go for it and order.

If I remember correctly, it took about a month and a half to arrive by the Israel Post, but it was also at the height of the war and Black Friday, so I'm totally fine with that.

The mask has 2 modes - acne mode and antiaging mode.

Acne mode - combines red light at 630 nm and blue light at 450 nm (looks purple in reality).

Antiaging mode - combines orange light at 605 nm, red at 630 nm, deep red at 660 nm, and infrared at 880 nm.

The device is activated through their app. You can choose a treatment and start it, and each treatment is 3 minutes.

You can also choose a specific treatment for certain areas. For example, if you have acne on your cheek and chin and wrinkles on your forehead, you can choose a different treatment for the areas you want to work on.

Because my skin has acne and I also want to delay the wrinkles, I chose to simply do two treatments one after the other (it doesn't matter in which order), so I get 6 minutes of treatment a day.

The mask is charged via type c and lasts me about 3 days (don't forget that I do a double treatment). You don't need to connect it to electricity during the treatment and you can walk with it at home freely.

I heard about some masks that have to be left plugged in and they don't charge. In retrospect, I'm glad I chose a rechargeable one, because I think it would have been much more difficult for me to stick to it if I had to sit for 6 minutes without moving.

I realized that most masks require 10 minutes for treatment, and here only 3 are required, which is much more convenient and easy to follow.

Along with the mask, you also get an eye protector because the light is very strong, and I highly recommend using it and not underestimating it. Keep your eyes peeled.

You also get a type c cable, a bag for the mask, and a suitable rubber. I must say that their packaging is super expensive.

It should be used on clean and dry skin. I use the first step after cleansing in the evening (but you can also use it in the morning or in the middle of the day, it doesn't matter).

Note that it is important to clean the mask every few days with a damp wipe (without alcohol!) so that it does not accumulate bacteria.

My impression:

I can't testify about antiaging, because I don't have wrinkles and I use it to delay (along with a lot of sunscreen, beauty products and other equipment). I do believe it works because there is a lot of research behind it.

Regarding the acne - I have been using retinoids for years to moderate my acne, but from time to time there are still outbreaks of pimples that I have already learned to accept and love:)

I recently had an outbreak and decided to be brave and see if the mask alone could take care of it. I only used it, without any other spot treatment or benzoyl peroxide, for two days twice a day (morning and evening). To my surprise, the breakout was significantly reduced even with the mask alone! It didn't disappear completely because after all there is no magic here, but from my familiarity with my skin it is a quick result. In addition to that, there was no irritation or dryness at all.

I felt that the mask felt comfortable on the skin and how it sits on the face, but I haven't tried others to compare.

Price💸:

It cost me about 1000 shekels plus another 70 shekels for customs, after Black Friday sales. It's not the cheapest mask on the market, but it's not the most expensive either.

On the one hand it's probably more expensive than any cream or serum you have on a regular basis, but on the other hand it should last for years (hopefully). There is a one-year warranty and I hope it will last much longer (I will update).

So our code is MAYAQURE and it will give you a 10% discount.

I'm not sure that I earn from the code, I'll find out later, but I think I do earn if you buy through my link, so I'd love it if you could do that ❤️

In conclusion

I think that LED treatments have just started their way in the world of cosmetics and we still have a lot to learn and progress, but they are completely promising. I think this is an excellent addition to the routine, especially for those who have sensitive skin and cannot handle many active ingredients, but at the same time it is important to remember that this is not magic either and you need persistence and patience to see results. If you don't have the foundation for care (cleansing, moisturizing, and protection) yet, I would focus on strengthening it first, before turning to luxury equipment.
