I'll start by saying that I have sensitive armpits. Very sensitive๐ to the extent that quite a few deodorants gave me a rash that prevented me from raising my hand (physically).
This kosas deodorant is a slightly different kind of deodorant - it is based on alpha hydroxy, glycolic, lactic, citric and tartaric acids. The same family of acids that chemically exfoliate the skin, also have the ability to neutralize odor. Thanks to the exfoliation, they can also lighten dark spots in the armpits and prevent hairs that grow under the skin.
Besides these acids, it also contains:
Shikamic acid - an antimicrobial acid that can also prevent bad body odor and is suitable for sensitive skin.
Aloe that soothes, glycerin and hyaluronic acid for moisture, a peptide that can improve skin elasticity.
fragrance-free, alcohol, or essential oils (something that is very common in deodorants and can irritate sensitive skin).
Note that there is a difference between odor neutralization and perspiration, and in the case of this deodorant, I'm not sure which of the ingredients is supposed to prevent perspiration.
My experience:
Despite the excellent ingredients, my experience was not positive.
In terms of stimulation, I experienced little. I mean, I've had much more irritating deodorants, but there are some that are less irritating.
Regarding smell, I regularly use benzoyl peroxide soap that neutralizes odors (highly recommend โค๏ธ) so at first I had no problems with it, but when I stopped using the BP for a few days I found out that it is not the strongest deodorant in this area ๐ so I went back to benzoyl peroxide.
Regarding sweating, I didn't feel any unusual change. I applied once a day and it was enough for the whole day.
It does not stain, absorbs quickly, is comfortable.
Another problem with it, is that he clarified the area for me significantly, and now it looks strange๐
If you have dark underarms you might see this as an advantage, but for me it just left a weird light spot.
The price is more expensive than average deodorants at the pharmacy (58 NIS at Sephora UK at the moment) but the ingredients are as well.
In my opinion, this is not a deodorant that is suitable for the Israeli summer, but maybe it could be interesting for treating dark circles.
The brand is cruelty-free ๐ฐโค๏ธ
