Kamedis CALM Moisturizer

I received the product from Kamedis for review. This is a cream designed to restore dry and irritated skin, and part of the series for atopic dermatitis (asthma of the skin).

When Kamedis contacted me for the first time, this is the product that caught my eye the most and looks great, because of the ingredients I know and know are good. It was only after I researched the product and its ingredients in depth that I realized how much of a world there is here that I didn't know at all.

Kamedis base their products on plants from Chinese medicine. I didn't know this world, so I naturally raised an eyebrow a bit, but I'll admit that after researching these ingredients that I didn't know, I was pleasantly surprised.

So let's start with the more familiar ingredients:

Petrolatum ("Vaseline")- is the most occlusive ingredient available. Occlusive means that it "seals" - it prevents the moisture in the skin from "escaping" out. Contrary to the myth - it is not commodious or dangerous.

Shea butter - contributes to moisture, soothes the skin, rich in antioxidants.

Mineral oil - it also has a bad name, but no, it is not a comedone, and can contribute to moisture.

Sarcosine - an amino acid that contributes to moisture.

3 different types of ceramides that can restore a broken skin barrier and keep it healthy.

Phytosphingosine - anti-bacterial, can help treat acne.

Licorice - antioxidant, brightening, soothing.

In addition to all these good things, it also contains some plant extracts from Chinese medicine that can restore the skin and treat irritated skin, fight bacteria and fungi and protect the skin, and they are antioxidants.

Scutellaria - anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antifungal, antioxidant.

Rubherb - antibacterial, antioxidant.

Sanguisorba - anti-inflammatory, antioxidant.

Cnidium - antimicrobial, can restore and reduce skin itching.

The product does not contain fragrance/alcohol/essential oils.

This cream is very heavy and greasy. In principle, I don't think it's a cream intended for everyday use and I don't think that's its purpose either. It is a cream intended for emergency situations of broken skin barrier, dry, red, and irritated skin.

I used it when I recently had redness and peeling of the skin, probably from an allergy to something. After 20 minutes the redness was reduced by half! I stuck to it for a few days after that and everything was restored.

Even though my skin is dry, I think it's too heavy for everyday because I'll get breakouts after a few days of continuous use. I recently learned that this can happen from creams that are too heavy because the bacteria and sweat at night are "imprisoned" under the cream.

It's important to note that it has a color and smell that, according to what they told me, is made from the plants, so don't be alarmed by it.

In conclusion, I think this is a very successful cream for broken skin barrier emergencies and I really like it.

The brand is cruelty-free 🐰❤️
