Kamedis CALM Gel Moisturizer

I received the product for review from Kamedis. It is a moisturizing gel designed for dry skin.

It contains a combination of moisturizing, soothing and restorative ingredients:

• Scutellaria - a plant from Chinese medicine that has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antifungal properties (in other words, it restores and treats irritated skin, and can fight bacteria and fungi). It is also an antioxidant.
• Rhubarb - a plant from Chinese medicine with antibacterial and antioxidant properties.
• Cnidium - a plant from Chinese medicine with antimicrobial properties and the ability to restore and reduce skin itching.
• Licorice - antioxidant, brightens, relaxes.
• hyaluronic acid - attracts moisture to the skin.
• Allantoin - soothes and restores the skin.
• Glycerin - to moisturize.
• fragrance-free / alcohol / essential oils.

Gel has advantages and disadvantages.

Its texture is a texture I have not seen before and it is not easy to describe. It is a gel but nevertheless it is not light at all and is suitable for dry skin.

It is the color of honey and a bit sticky like honey (does not contain honey). It absorbs well and leaves a glowing appearance.

The cream soothes and restores the skin, reduced the redness I had and helped with the dryness during the transitional season.

It is sticky and therefore durable on the skin during the night and keeps it moisturized until the morning. On the other hand, the stickiness can be unpleasant if you sleep on a silk/satin pillow. With a cotton pad I didn't have this problem.

The plants have a bit of an orange color, so the gel leaves a bit of a blotchy tint on the skin, making it not so practical to use during the day but only at night. It left me with slight stains on the pillow (not something that doesn't come off in the wash, but still). Kamedis avoid adding artificial color to their products to avoid unnecessary irritation.

It has a smell that is typical of many of their products because it is the natural smell of the plants. Kamedis chose not to add fragrance to avoid irritation.

I really appreciate them for preferring not to add ingredients that can irritate even if it's at the expense of a slightly unpleasant smell or a color that looks unattractive.

If I compare it to their cream for dry skin, the Topic Skin-

The gel is less heavy than it. In my opinion, the Topik Skin is more intended for emergency situations of a broken skin barrier, red and irritated skin or extreme dryness, while the gel is more intended for daily use.

In the previous review I told you that if I use Topik Skin for several days in a row, I get pimples. This did not happen with the gel. I've been using it every night in a row for several weeks and I haven't had pimples (at least not more than usual).

All in all, I think it's a good product with amazing ingredients, especially for the dry winter and for sensitive or dry skin, but you have to take into account that it has disadvantages that stem from the natural characteristics of the ingredients.
