iUNIK Centella Calming Daily Sun Water 120ml

After trying more than a hundred sunscreens, it really takes a lot to surprise me anymore. I thought I'd seen it all until I came across this product.

It's a sunscreen with an actual toner texture! It's completely liquid. I was a little skeptical about the photos and the promises, but it really is completely liquid in real life too. It feels too good to be true. Literally sunscreen water.

It has SPF50+ and PA++++ for UVA and UVB protection, and contains 5 chemical UV filters, combining newer- and older-generation filters.

As for the ingredients, it contains:

• Centella asiatica leaf water and ingredients derived from centella, such as madecassoside and asiaticoside. Centella is best known for its potential to soothe the skin and reduce redness.
• Panthenol and allantoin - soothing and hydrating ingredients. Panthenol can also support skin barrier function.
• Glycerin and hyaluronic acid - hydrating ingredients that help attract and retain water in the skin.
• No fragrance, essential oils or drying alcohol.

Despite its toner texture, you use it as a sunscreen, at the end of your skincare routine. You need to shake the bottle before every use and make sure to apply a sufficient, even amount.

It's so liquid that I end up applying loads of it because I feel unprotected 😂 But that feeling doesn't mean it offers less protection. You can't judge the level of protection by how heavy a product feels on your skin.

The main downside of the liquid texture is that it's really messy, drips and gets everywhere. It takes a little getting used to.

It leaves no white cast and gives the skin a slightly shiny finish. On my dry skin, it felt a little drying after a few hours, despite the hydrating ingredients in it. For people with oily skin, it sounds like a really interesting option to me, especially if you can't stand the feel of sunscreen or anything heavy on your skin.

It also comes in a generous 120ml size, and I think this texture could work really well on the body too. Just keep in mind that it isn't water resistant, so for the beach, the pool or activities that involve a lot of sweating, I'd choose a water-resistant product.

This is definitely a wild product. It's a little less suited to my dry skin, but if you hate sunscreen because of the texture, this is a product worth knowing about.
