An essence containing 4% glycolic acid and 4% lactic acid, which are both alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) and in total contains 8% AHA.
Alpha hydroxy acids chemically exfoliate the skin and help shed dead cells. They help in improving the texture of the skin, for example - acne scars, wrinkles, and keratosis pilaris (bumps on the skin). In addition, they are effective in the treatment of pigmentation and acne, and help to make the skin look radiant and healthy.
The difference between lactic acid and glycolic acid is that the molecules of lactic acid are larger and therefore penetrate less deeply into the skin, thus suitable for more sensitive skin. The combination between 4% glycolic and 4% lactic creates an essence that is suitable for beginners with acids but not for particularly sensitive skin.
The essence is suitable for dry to normal skin, but in my opinion those with oily skin can also benefit from it.
In addition to acids, it contains moisturizing and soothing ingredients such as aloe, panthenol, allanotine, and Asian plant extracts that have been proven to be soothing, antioxidant, and maintain a healthy skin barrier. The essence does not contain alcohol, essential oils or fragrance.
All in all - I really liked the product and I think it is mainly suitable for beginners in the skincare world or for those with slightly sensitive or dry skin who want to introduce alpha hydroxy acids into their skincare routine ☺️
