It is actually a deodorant based on mandelic acid (AHA). Using alpha hydroxy acids in deodorants is new and not common yet, but in my opinion this is the future of deodorants! And I will explain why:
Alpha hydroxy acids have been proven to be able to kill the bacteria that cause the bad smell, thus preventing odors. In addition, the acids can lighten the skin and thus help with dark underarms.
As someone who suffered greatly from drugstore deodorants, and everything else left my skin unbearably irritated and dry - this Drunk Elephant deodorant is an amazing change for me. It has mandelic acid that prevents odors, powder that absorbs moisture, and shea butter that moisturizes and maintains the skin barrier. It doesn't irritate me at all, on the contrary - it gave the skin full of moisture and comfort. Its texture is creamy. In terms of its effectiveness against odors, it is almost like the deodorants from the drugstore - that is, it is not invincible, but it does the job (at least for me). It has no fragrance and alcohol, but its smell is really pleasant, probably it comes from one of the ingredients.
Its cost is about NIS 60. A price that is not cheap compared to deodorants from the drugstore, but it is worth it especially for those who suffer from irritation.
