Cloth masks are masks that are mostly used in Korean cosmetics. It's basically a fabric soaked in essence/serum, and usually the purpose of the mask is to moisturize. Cloth masks are put on dry skin, wait 15-20 minutes (or as written in the instructions) and do not wash off.
I tried the cloth masks of the Korean company Deer Klairs.
The white mask - a soothing moisturizing mask that aims to strengthen the skin barrier.
What does it contain?
- Glycerin and betaine - moisture
- Aloe vera, licorice and panthenol - moisturizing, soothing
- Allantoin - sedative
- hyaluronic acid - attracts moisture to the skin
- Centella asiatica- moisturizing, soothing, antioxidant
- 5 different types of ceramides - found naturally in the skin, moisturize and maintain a healthy skin barrier.
Without alcohol, fragrance or essential oils.
The mask gives a boost of moisture, and can soothe irritated skin. It can be suitable for relaxation after an aggressive treatment (for example after an acid mask or derma roller), or just when you feel like it.
The black mask - a soothing mask for irritated skin that also helps to gently clean pores.
What does it contain?
- White willow bark extract - a soothing ingredient that works in a similar way to salicylic acid (cleans pores) only in a much gentler way.
- Erythritol- gives moisture and a cooling effect
- Glycerin and betaine - moisture
- Arginine- an amino acid that is found naturally in the skin, and helps to moisturize.
- Allantoin - sedative
- Licorice - moisturizing, soothing
- Tea tree oil - anti-acne, antioxidant
- Centella asiatica- moisturizing, soothing, antioxidant
No alcohol, and tea tree essential oil at the end of the list and in a small amount (low potential for irritation).
The mask gives a nice cooling sensation that can help irritated, swollen or red skin. The mask can also help acneic or oily skin, which is also sensitive.
The 2 masks are divided into 2 parts - an upper part of the face and a lower part, which makes them a little more comfortable and adapted to any face shape than other cloth masks I've tried.
Of the 2 masks, I liked the black mask better because of the refreshing and relaxing feeling of the cooling, but both are really great.
I'm personally not into the concept of cloth masks because it's not that convenient and it's also not ecological at all (with each use, a bag and the cloth itself are thrown away). It could be nice maybe on vacations because it's compact. But for those who love - I highly recommend these excellent masks!
