On my last visit to Sephora abroad, I wanted to try some Bioma products, because I heard that it is a good company. I just needed a new cleansing oil, so I decided to try it (and in retrospect I'm not sure why I chose it).
The list of ingredients is quite simple:
✅ Olive oil, hippopotamus oil, moringa oil, squalane - for cleaning leftover makeup, sunscreen, and dirt.
✅ Emulsifying ingredient for cleaning.
❌ Rosemary essential oil - they say they put it in the formula as an antioxidant, but to me it's very unnecessary because it's an essential oil that can irritate. On the other hand, with a formula that washes off the skin after 2 minutes, it's not so bad.
✅ Ceramide - to strengthen the skin barrier and maintain moisture.
I have been using it on and off for the past few months. It does an excellent job removing sunscreen and makeup (even heavy), and emulsifies easily.
The reason I wrote that I'm not sure why I chose it is the rosemary oil. First of all, the smell is noticeable. Those who do not like the smell of rosemary - this is not for you. Second, I didn't feel any immediate irritation from the product, but I did feel that when I use it continuously for at least a few days, my skin becomes a little more sensitive.
Overall, I feel that the rosemary oil ruined the product here, and there are much more skin barrier friendly cleansing oils, so I can't recommend it.
The brand is cruelty-free 🐰❤️
