You already know I love Bondi Sands' Hydra range, so when I flew to Cyprus it was a great opportunity to try out their sports collection, where the sunscreens are very waterproof. Australians have a very high level of testing for sunscreens, both in terms of protection level and in terms of water resistance, so you can trust them.
This sunscreen is one of their sunscreens that are sold in the USA, so it is in American brands and does not contain new generation chemical filters, only old ones (without oxybenzone). Chemical filters from the old generation are less stable and tend to irritate, so it is very important to pay attention to innovations and sometimes they are not suitable for those with sensitive skin.
It contains 4 different types of older-generation UV filters, but to me this is forgivable for several reasons:
This is an Australian sunscreen with a high standard.
Its purpose is for the pool/seas/sports, which requires frequent reapplication in any case.
I used it mainly for the body, skin that is much less sensitive than the face.
Apart from the chemical filters, it does not contain too many interesting ingredients, except for aloe vera which can soothe. It has no fragrance/alcohol/essential oils.
It is completely liquid, light, and easily absorbed. It comes in a large 500 ml bottle which is economical and convenient to take on vacations. The bottle has a trigger spray, I don't like that kind of bottles because it just squirts everywhere. I always spray on my hand and then simply apply.
It gives a very shiny look and even feels a little greasy, but I personally don't care when it's just a sunscreen that's not for everyday use. It's sticky but that's natural in waterproof sunscreens
Note that there is another version that looks like the same sunscreen in a small size and I also thought it was the same one at first, but they are slightly different (both slightly different ingredients and texture). There will also be a review on it.
I used both of them on vacation in Cyprus where we were in the water a lot, both in the pool, in the sea, and in a water park, in the strongest radiation available. I renewed a lot and relative to the amount of exposure I was in I almost didn't tan at all, just a really small one.
All in all, this is a sunscreen that I will recommend for water activities or sports. For everyday use it is less ideal. I ordered from the official Amazon store.
The brand is cruelty-free 🐰❤️
