Collagen masks are probably the strongest trend of 2024, but not everything trendy is necessarily good (or at least, so good that it justifies the hype).
Collagen is a type of protein that our skin is made of. Over the years we produce less collagen, which is one of the causes of a more mature appearance and wrinkles. However, collagen is a large molecule that cannot penetrate the skin, and even if it does penetrate there is no proof that it settles in the same place we want in the skin, but collagen is a great moisturizing ingredient.
Besides collagen, the mask contains:
✅ Galactomyces - a fermented ingredient with a variety of benefits such as antiaging, moisture, pigmentation treatment, and strengthening the skin barrier.
✅ Niacinamide - a favorite and popular ingredient that can help with a variety of skin problems such as treating post-acne spots, balancing sebum production, acne, strengthening the skin barrier, moisturizing, brightening, and more.
✅ Glycerin - a classic and good moisturizing ingredient.
✅ Amino acids - for moisturizing and strengthening the skin barrier.
✅ fragrance-free, drying alcohol, or essential oils.
There is a nice variety of classic and good moisturizers here.
Its texture is jelly, not like a normal cloth mask, and it gives a cool, pleasant, and refreshing feeling to the skin. You have to leave it for a few hours until it becomes transparent and feels like a plastic bag on the skin 😂
I tried it in several ways:
According to the instructions on the box - I put it on clean skin and left it for a few hours and took it off. I saw no significant change. The same glow she would see from simply doing my routine (and maybe even less).
The way of all bloggers - I applied it after my routine and stayed with it. In the morning I ran to take it off because I felt like a clingy plastic bag was stuck to me (great for those who have trouble getting up in the morning 😂). Here too - I did not see a significant change. Kind of like slagging.
Overall, I think it's a very cute mask to treat yourself to if you have a few hours to spare, but I haven't seen a significant change from it and I don't think it's worth the hype. A cute gimmick and nothing more.
I sometimes like to put on masks just for fun and to feel after, so I ordered more of these, but to say that it changes lives? Absolutely not 😂
Conclusion - you don't have to follow every online trend.
The brand is cruelty-free 🐰❤️
