I received this product as a gift, and it sat in my drawer for ages before I finally decided to try it (don't worry, it was still within its expiration date). Honestly, I don't know why I waited because it's excellent!
This is a hydrating serum with 60% propolis, a sticky, resinous substance produced by bees to disinfect and seal the hive. It has antibacterial, antimicrobial and antioxidant properties and is sometimes called “nature's antibiotic.” On the skin, it mainly acts as a hydrating, barrier-supporting antioxidant, but it may also suit acne-prone skin very well.
In addition to propolis, it contains:
- 2% niacinamide, a popular ingredient that can help with several skin concerns, including balancing oil production, fading dark spots, supporting the skin barrier, reducing redness and even helping with acne.
- Turmeric extract, an antioxidant that soothes the skin. One small study suggested it may help balance sebum production.
- Centella asiatica extract to soothe the skin, reduce redness and provide antioxidant support.
- Hyaluronic acid for hydration.
- No fragrance, drying alcohol or essential oils.
The texture is viscous and a little sticky. It doesn't bother me personally, but that comes down to preference. I felt that it gave my skin plenty of hydration and a glowy finish even in the short term. The dropper is a little annoying, and sometimes it is frustrating to get the product out, but that is the only downside for me.
I think this serum can suit every skin type, but especially anyone looking for more hydration and glow. It should also work very well for sensitive skin.
The brand is cruelty-free 🐰❤️
