I received the product for review from Superpharm.
This is a retinol serum from the new company that arrived at Superpharm - Advanced Clinicals.
First of all, what is retinol?
Retinol is pure vitamin A and is from the retinoid family. Retinoids are actually different derivatives of vitamin A. When applied to the skin, they help speed up the rate of skin turnover and thus help with a variety of skin problems such as treating and preventing wrinkles, lightening pigmentation and treating acne. Its side effects are not simple, it can be very drying and cause irritation and peeling at first. It can take a long time to see results from it, sometimes half a year - a year. Note that retinoids should not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding!
This specific retinol serum from Advanced contains a little special retinol - it's capsuled retinol. This is a technology where the retinol is put into small capsules that help the retinol penetrate better but also release more slowly, which reduces the irritations and dryness that retinol often causes.
In the past I tried using retinol (from The Ordinary) on my neck, which is a more sensitive area for me, and I had a lot of irritation so I stopped. On the other hand, Advanced's encapsulated retinol has never caused me this sensitivity at all (I've been using it for almost two months).
I use it mainly to delay the wrinkles so unfortunately I can't vouch for any results.
Its texture is not really a serum but more of a light and milky moisturizer like this. I actually really like its texture.
Besides retinol from capsules, it contains other good ingredients such as rosemary extract, vitamin E, green tea, aloe vera, rice, and oats, which is a combination of antioxidants and soothing ingredients.
However, it also contains not so good ingredients such as fragrance and essential oils that can irritate the skin, which is its main disadvantage in my opinion. It has a slightly and delicate orange smell. For me, it's not rumination, as I said, but there are people who are sensitive to fragrance, and it is also possible to develop an allergy to fragrance over the years.
All in all, I like it because it's a retinol that doesn't irritate my neck and its texture is nice and not heavy, but the fragrance sucks a bit.
The brand is cruelty-free 🐰❤️
